Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026 (paid-subscription revision)
This policy explains how billing, cancellation, and refunds work for Otakucollection LLC d/b/a Effortless Apply. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service (Section 9, Plans, Billing, and Refunds). If anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
1. No free trial
New customer subscriptions do not include a free trial. Creating an account, completing onboarding, selecting a plan, or enabling automation does not create a charge. Stripe Checkout shows the first-month amount, monthly renewal frequency, and cancellation path before you authorize payment.
2. When the selected paid plan begins
When you complete Stripe Checkout:
- You authorize the immediate first-month charge and recurring monthly renewal charges for the selected plan until cancellation.
- Paid access becomes eligible only after Stripe verifies payment through the current billing period for the exact subscription. An “active” status, pending or failed payment, or client-side success page by itself does not activate paid automation.
- Payment does not authorize job submissions. You must separately enable automation, and you may pause it without canceling the subscription.
3. Subscriptions, renewal & cancellation
- Paid subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly, beginning with the first-month charge at Checkout, and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals; it takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until that date.
- We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law.
4. Refunds
Effortless Apply submits applications and runs AI on your behalf in real time — those resources are consumed as you use the Service and cannot be reclaimed. Accordingly:
- Applications already submitted are non-refundable. Once the Service has submitted applications during a billing period, fees for that period are not refundable.
- Accidental purchase: if you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 48 hours of the charge and before any meaningful usage of the paid plan, and we will review it in good faith for a refund.
- Service issues: if a verified, reproducible technical fault on our side materially prevented you from using the Service for a paid period, contact us with the details and we will review your situation in good faith.
- One-time application packs (overage credits) are consumable and are non-refundable once any credit from the pack has been used.
Where a refund is granted, it is issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction.
5. Failed payments
If the first payment fails or remains incomplete, paid automation does not begin. If a renewal payment fails, we retry according to Stripe's standard dunning schedule. Continued payment failure may pause automated applications and suspend paid features until payment is resolved. Your account and data are not deleted for a failed payment — see the Privacy Policy for retention and deletion details.
6. How to cancel or request a refund
- Cancel a subscription: Settings → Billing. The Stripe billing portal lets you cancel, switch plans, or update your card. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not itself pause automation before the paid period ends.
- Request a refund or ask a billing question: email support@effortlessapply.ai with your account email and the charge in question.
7. Legacy trials and internal access
A legacy trial or other pre-existing trial state does not authorize a charge under this policy. The customer must affirmatively select a paid plan and complete the current Stripe Checkout. Internal operator testing access, when granted, is a separate audited non-billing entitlement; it does not create a Stripe subscription or charge and is not eligible for a payment refund because no customer payment was taken.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Material changes are announced the same way as changes to our Terms (email notice at least 30 days before they take effect for material changes). The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
